BTG Pactual combines 26.7% ROAE, 20% annual internal capital generation, and dominant Latin American franchises with substantial five-year upside despite consumer-credit and macroeconomic risks.
Overview
Banco BTG Pactual is Latin America’s premier independent investment bank, combining wholesale capital markets, corporate lending, trading, asset management, wealth management, and mass-market consumer finance into an integrated “all-weather” ecosystem. The model diversifies revenue across advisory and underwriting fees, interest spreads, management fees, and brokerage flows while serving corporates, institutions, wealthy families, and digital consumers in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay. **Q2 2026 demonstrated the earnings power of this platform:** adjusted managerial revenue was R$10.4 billion, up 16.0% year over year and 4.0% sequentially; recurring adjusted net income was R$5.1 billion, up 23.0%; and ROAE reached a record 26.7%. The cost-to-income ratio improved to 37.1%, while the Basel ratio was 16.0%, Tier I capital 12.6%, and LCR 160.3%. Corporate lending revenue rose 18.7% to R$2.50 billion, consumer finance increased 37.0% sequentially to R$1.55 billion, and wealth revenue grew 16.8%, partly offsetting a 46.1% investment-banking decline. At R$53.58–R$55.47, valuation is approximately 14.2x trailing P/E and 3.2x–3.5x P/B. The 12-month consensus target is R$65.92–R$66.23, while the five-year probability-weighted target is R$94.40. Near-term catalysts are second-half 2026 DCM recovery, continued 15%–20% corporate loan growth, asset inflows, and PAN/MeuTudo synergies; principal risks are consumer delinquencies, rates, competition, and JCP reform.
