Cadiz Inc. (CDZI) Stock Analysis

Cadiz offers rare water-scarcity upside, but regulatory blockage, debt maturities, and dilution risk make it a highly binary speculation.

Overview

Cadiz is transitioning from a small, loss-making agricultural land business into a speculative water infrastructure and filtration platform. It owns 45,000 acres above a massive Mojave aquifer and has built a strategy around groundwater storage, pipeline delivery, and ATEC filtration systems. The opportunity is large given Southwestern water scarcity, but current revenues remain small and lumpy, while the core water project is not yet operational. The investment case depends on regulatory approval, financing, and commercialization of long-term municipal water contracts.
