Fagerhult offers asymmetric recovery potential from depressed valuation, but the investment depends on executing SEK 220 million of savings while deleveraging through a difficult European construction cycle.
Overview
Fagerhult Group is a Habo-based Swedish professional-lighting company with thirteen premium brands organized into Collection, Premium, Professional and Infrastructure. It sells across more than 40 markets, has direct presence in 27 countries and manufactures in Europe, China, Australia, Turkey, Thailand and Canada. The model combines engineered hardware with smart-building controls and software, while roughly 50% of sales come from renovation and retrofit projects. Q2 2026 showed top-line resilience but severe earnings pressure: order intake rose 8.6% to MSEK 2,068, net sales increased 6.8% to MSEK 1,974, yet organic sales fell 1.4%, EBITA before IAC declined 16.9% to MSEK 113 and margin fell to 5.7%. Operating cash flow was MSEK -9. **The central catalyst is a SEK 220 million annualized savings program**, although it carries SEK 350–400 million of restructuring charges. At 17.34 SEK, valuation is compressed at 11.61x trailing P/E, 11.04x normalized forward P/E, 0.44x P/B and 0.40x P/S. **The opportunity is a recovery toward 9.5–10% EBITA margins**, supported by EPBD-driven retrofits, but leverage and execution justify a cautious Hold/recovery stance.
